This Whistler EWS is going to kill me. They just released the course maps and numbers, and at 36 miles and almost 8000 feet of climbing, keep your eyes peeled in the coverage for me and other lazy ex-downhill guys to be laid out dying on the side of the road.
Hey, at least the Whistler valley climbs aren't that steep, right?
Suck it up princess.
ReplyDeleteDo a flip for the cameras, and no one will care who won the race - some guy did a flip! Then sit back and enjoy your new found sponsored slackerdom.
ReplyDeletewelcome to Whistler, bitch
ReplyDeleteBring t shirts so you can hope to at least hope be successful at sales
ReplyDeleteI've been paying attention to enduro for 2 years now and have yet to see a entertaining race. It's usually just pictures of guys with backpacks pedaling on flat trails.....yawn.
ReplyDeleteIn that same period of time I've watched about 10 thrilling World Cup races that had knarly features, steeps, and it looks like racers are in the edge all the time. Every race is exciting and I can't wait to see the next.
World Cup DH is the shit for me. Enduro is just something that enduro geeks read and talk about, and pretend it's important. I know some enduro races are fun to compete in but everyone needs to quit pretending its exciting for fans. I'm over it, please everyone stop talking about it, and let's focus on the real DH trails, and the big bikes that the real men ride.
And I really don't give a shit who is the best "all-around' rider on a trail bike.

ReplyDeleteStuff is easy to ride on a comfy couch.
Come ride the course in Whistler on a trail bike on the ragged edge. You might change your comment about real men.
The Dude wins for comment. This course is classic Whistler/Sea to Sky. Lots of steep punchy climbing with trails that make the average DH track elsewhere seem like the sidewalk at Mall of America.
Stoked for Sunday, going to be a fun day of riding.

ReplyDeleteSays the guy that probably can't ride any trail in Whistler Valley, let alone race down it. Looking at the coverage of Windham today, the Whistler EWS course seems that much more technical.
ENDURO. NEON CONDOMS. ORANGE SLICES BETWEEN BREAKS. XC DOESNT STOP FOR ANYTHING !!! ENDURO PUSSIES
ReplyDeleteCOLORADO WAS EMBARRASSING
ReplyDeleteHaven't you heard about the dozens of pharmacies in Belarus and Lithuania, etc, that sell Erythropoietin over the counter........NO questions asked???
ReplyDeleteYou can get a year's supply for about $300 bucks. It sounds like you'll need the xtra boost. ;)

Don't forget your magic underwear Sponsel.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry. Super D will be back soon.
ReplyDeleteSuper D never really left., most American 'enduro' s have at least one or two stages that are essentially Super D-worthy and sucky.
ReplyDelete"...but everyone needs to quit pretending its exciting for fans."
That part is spot on.
