If you are actually riding downhill in the snow long chainstays seem like a decent idea. .. unless you want to do freeride flicks.
I don't like fat biles but that's the best looking one I've seen, probably because it doesn't look so obviously like a fat bike.
I don't like fat bikes either but if your choices are ride all winter (in snow) or sit around getting grumpy, then fat biking it is.
