Well to be fair, if you're using stans rims tubeless with a few tire combos plus sealant, things will be dampened on impacts. I see what they're going for.
verb 1. smother or suppress; "Stifle your curiosity" [syn: stifle] [ant: excite] 2. make moist; "The dew moistened the meadows" [syn: moisten] 3. deaden (a sound or noise), especially by wrapping [syn: muffle] 4. reduce the amplitude (of oscillations or waves) 5. make vague or obscure or make (an image) less visible; "muffle the message" 6. check; keep in check (a fire) 7. lessen in force or effect; "soften a shock"; "break a fall"
dampen can refer to the definition of damping or dampening
' Defined as to make damp or to stifle, dampening can be correctly used to describe depressing the intensity of an emotion, but should not be used to describe the reduction in amplitude of a force, a harmonic oscillation, or similar physical process or phenomenon. For such phenomenon, damping is the correct term.'
There's an office somewhere in Big Flats, NY, where all the racing pictures that were considered for that ad are scattered on a table; none of them said "feeble, slow and off-balance" quite like this one did.
Does someone know who innovated the slogan that carbon dampens anything better than aluminium? Wheels and handlebars in particular? It's hard to find a bullshit bigger than this. And then so many propel it further... it's unbelievable how stupid one must be to feel so much guilt for spending lots of money to convince himself that such utter crap is true.

Bummer for Spencer. That sucks.
So moist.
"The ZTR Valor utilizes a construction that is both elastic and strong"
I'll be impressed if they can make carbon rims as flexy as their aluminum ones!
